Pietrasanta, the most populous city in Versilia, is just a 15-minute drive away and is rich with monuments and other landmarks, such as the Cathedral of San Martino, with its Romanesque-Gothic style architecture from around the 13th and 14th centuries, the churches of Sant’Agostino and Sant’Antonio Abate, the Gothic Civic Tower, and the clock tower.
Camaiore, a 25-minute drive away, is known for the beauty of its landscapes as well as the abbey, the Santo Stefano parish, the minster of Santa Maria Assunta, Teatro dell’Olivo, and Villa Borbone delle Pianore.
In about half an hour, you can go to the beautiful city of Lucca with its Renaissance-era city walls. The alluring historical center of the city is virtually intact and features every sort of architectural masterpiece one could hope for, including medieval churches, Renaissance palaces, bell towers, squares, city gates, villas, and other monuments.
Pisa, with its famous leaning tower, the symbol of the city, is also just a half-hour’s drive away. Here, you can also enjoy the Romanesque cathedral and adjacent square, the 12th century bell tower, Piazza dei Cavalieri, the Borgo Stretto district, the Lungarni, and art works of inestimable value.
