Massimiliano Pelletti
Fallen Beauty
Massimiliano Pelletti especially designs for Hotel Byron an unrealized project consisting of 11 sculptures in tufa, marble and bronze, focusing his attention on the classicism in the contemporary sculpture.
The Fallen Beauty project is faced to explore the ways and forms through which a contemporary artist can draw inspirationfrom the old world, thus creating a bridge between the centuries that contributes to get close to past works, renegotiating their meaning and enhancing their testimony.
Undoubtedly Massimiliano Pelletti is the best actor to carry out the recovery of most of the artistic past teachings as inspiration for the present: in its unique manner of updating there is an unmistakable pedagogical and didactic function.
The works designed for the project-room appear as a sort of “ruins”, have their sublime beauty, their performance arouses a mixture of feelings of sadness, grandiosity, pathos. For this reason you can talk about a lyric vision of the classical models.
The dominant aspect is a sentimental and poetic feeling. It can oscillate and vary from a light, epigramatic to a grave and tragic but it is still clear that it remains a common thread of romantic nostalgia that pervades even so different expressions
